Our goals: useful feedback without the usual friction
Principles behind FitCV - access, clarity, and human+parser-friendly résumés - set against real hiring funnel and ATS adoption data.
FitCV exists to make honest, structured feedback about your résumé and job fit easier to obtain than the typical maze of paywalls, vague blog advice, and black-box scores. These principles are not abstract - they respond to how hiring actually behaves in data.
Principle 1: free core, no login wall
You should not have to fund a subscription or create an account just to learn whether your CV is pointed at the right kind of role.
Industry reporting on job search consistently shows that candidates run many applications before outcomes land. Aggregated studies and career-lab writeups in recent years have cited ranges from dozens to hundreds of applications before an offer, depending on seniority, geography, and industry - plus long median times to first offer in many cohorts. If every one of those iterations requires a new signup, the friction tax is enormous.
Our goal is the opposite: try the core flows, read results, leave - and come back when you have a new draft.
Principle 2: feedback you can act on
Recruiter behavior studies (including eye-tracking and time-on-task work often summarized as ~7 seconds for an initial résumé skim) suggest that clarity beats cleverness. ATS pipelines add another layer: keyword and field filters are standard - recruiter surveys in ATS tool research frequently report near-universal use of search filters for skills and education in large candidate databases.
That means a score without explanation is not a plan. We aim for plain-language notes alongside structured signals so you can answer: what should change first?
Principle 3: humans and ATS systems both matter
A résumé has to be readable to people and parse cleanly in common hiring stacks. Surveys of large employers often find ATS usage in the high ninetieth percentile at Fortune-scale companies, while mid-market adoption is lower but still material.
We do not treat keyword stuffing as success. We care about structure, section clarity, and evidence - so you sound like a person, not a spam document.
Principle 4: transparency when things break
When upstream analysis is unavailable, we would rather say so than leave you guessing. Operational honesty is part of trust - especially when candidates already face low single-digit funnel odds in cold online applications in many public summaries.
Principle 5: we are an orchestration layer, not the whole labor market
FitCV does not replace recruiters, referrals, or networking - channels that repeatedly outperform cold application in public studies (referral-style advantages are often quoted in the double-digit percent success range versus sub-2% interview rates for typical online postings in some datasets).
We are a grounded check for your document and (optionally) your target - before you spend another week guessing.
