Welcome to FitCV
April 19, 2026: FitCV is born. A data-grounded look at why clearer resume feedback matters - and what we built for job seekers.
April 19, 2026 is FitCV's official birthday - the day this product stops being only a codebase and becomes something you can use in the open web. We skipped the cake; smoke detectors and PDF uploads do not mix. Instead, we are marking launch with something more useful: structured resume and job-fit feedback you can access without a paywall or login wall for the core flows.
Why this matters in 2026
Hiring is a high-volume, high-noise system on both sides. Public data and recruiter benchmarks repeatedly show the same shape of the funnel:
- A widely cited Glassdoor-era benchmark (often repeated in hiring literature) is that a corporate job posting can receive on the order of ~250 applications - with only a handful of interviews and a single hire. The exact number swings by brand, geography, and role, but the ratio is the point: most applicants will not advance, and small improvements in clarity and fit can matter.
- Global time-to-hire figures from large-scale benchmark reports (for example, analyses covering tens of millions of applications) often land in the ~5-6 week range for median processes - again varying sharply by industry.
- Applicant tracking systems (ATS) are nearly universal at large employers: surveys of Fortune-scale companies commonly report well over 90% adoption, because at scale humans cannot read every file by hand.
None of that is meant to discourage you. It is meant to explain why opaque feedback is so frustrating: candidates are asked to compete in a system where machines and humans both judge the same document, often without telling you why a specific CV missed the bar.
What FitCV is
FitCV is a web app for job seekers who want a faster, clearer read on how a résumé performs - optionally against a target role (industry, role, skills) when you want that alignment check.
We orchestrate analysis through an external Resume Shortlister engine (operated by Skillsauce). FitCV handles the browser experience, uploads, session flow, rate limits, and plain-language presentation of results. We do not claim to run the underlying ML ourselves; we claim to make the pipeline reachable and understandable.
What you can do here
- Upload a résumé and receive structured scores and narrative-style notes aimed at strengths and gaps - not a mystery number alone.
- Job alignment path: choose industry, role, and skills so feedback is grounded in a concrete target.
- Résumé-first path: emphasize the CV when you are still shaping direction or the engine only needs limited criteria.
- No login for the core experience: we do not think you should have to create an account just to see your first useful signal.
What we optimize for
- Readability for humans (recruiters and hiring managers who skim fast).
- Clarity for parsers (ATS-style structure without turning your CV into keyword soup).
- Operational honesty: when upstream analysis is unavailable, we prefer to say so instead of failing silently.
